First Voyage has successfully raised $2.5 million in a seed funding round aimed at further developing its AI-driven platform, Momo. This round was led by a16z speedrun, with participation from SignalFire, True Global Ventures and other high profile investors. The company’s mission is to help people build the habits they want in their lives and stick with them.

Beta co-founder and CEO Besart Çopa said their excitement about the support they’ve had from investors is an understatement. He launched Teachability, his new nonprofit, with the belief that building habits requires a different kind of platform. It should allow children to engage with an AI tutor in a safe and productive manner.

Momo is now live on iOS, and should soon be available on the Android appstore as well. The new platform has already generated huge interest with users already creating over 2 million tasks. The top hi-tech habits people are pursuing are productivity, spirituality and mindfulness. Momo sends users regular reminders for the tasks they’re interested in completing, boosting accountability on their paths to developing strong lifestyle habits.

In creating Momo, First Voyage has made user safety a top priority, putting built-in guardrails—including prompt filters—into place. These safeguards help to make sure that all interactions between users and Momo are healthy and positive. Çopa thinks these changing dynamics between AI characters and humans will only grow more important in the next few years.

“We are happy so many founders [and] startups are working in the AI self-care wellness space instead of building waifus.” – Besart Çopa

With Momo’s deep personalization, users develop a more personal bond. This gives users the power to interact with their AI companion in a way that truly feels personalized and specific to their needs. According to Çopa, “Momo’s mission is to empower users to turn into the best versions of themselves. In exchange, users treat Momo with love, attention, and adorable accessories.

First Voyage aspires for Momo and its community to evolve into a defining consumer brand that leverages AI, animation, and gamification to positively impact lives.

“We hope Momo and the community around it become a defining consumer brand that uses the best of AI, animation, and gamification to improve as many lives as possible.” – Besart Çopa

First Voyage is in the process of developing Momo to make user interactions even smarter and more intuitive. Their mission is to cultivate more meaningful relationships, making a deeply transformative experience for self-care and habit building.
