Meanwhile, Nexus Venture Partners said today that it’s closing its eighth fund at $700 million to put into seed and early-stage startups. The company has $3.2 billion of assets under management in its various funds. It’s making those moves strategically, balancing investments in the tech-for-good space with a serious commitment to AI, all while doubling down on India-focused startups.

Forward Nexus has obviously made a big leap of faith with the new fund. From its early days in 2006, the firm has backed more than 130 companies. The firm intends to invest 50 percent of its capital in Indian startups. This step further underscores its support for the region’s exciting entrepreneurial ecosystem. Nexus uses a synergistic, hands-on, and dynamic integrated approach. Their experience extends on both sides of the globe, with offices in Delaware, Menlo Park, Mumbai and Bengaluru.

Nexus Venture Partners typically raises every 2.5 to 3 years. Their investor base stretches across the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia and Japan. The firm has racked up over 30 exits to date. This includes several notable IPOs, a testament to its visionary approach to finding and fostering the next big thing.

The firm has further diversified its portfolio. Today it’s expanded to evergreen sectors such as consumer goods, fintech, logistics, and the Indian digital infrastructure. Keyly, Nexus is an investor in some of the most well known India focused startups like Zepto, Delhivery, Rapido, Turtlemint, Infra. And Zepto’s deep use of AI is just one example of how consumer businesses are rapidly adopting advanced technologies to sharpen their operations and drive growth.

Jishnu Bhattacharjee, partner at Nexus Venture Partners, accepted the notion that AI will fundamentally transform the business landscape.

“AI is a huge inflection point, and we are anchoring on that,” – Jishnu Bhattacharjee

Nexus Venture Partners knows that AI is one of those big technological waves. They have a strong commitment to encouraging startups that flourish at the intersection of that innovation. The New York-based firm has a strong interest in AI investments. It will place a premium on consumer and fintech startups that directly address the Indian markets.

As AI technologies continue to develop, Nexus is very interested in learning about how these innovations can help address and serve the larger population. Bhattacharjee stated,

“But we are also seeing that many of these AI innovations are actually getting used to serve the masses better.” – Jishnu Bhattacharjee

This dual approach puts Nexus in a strong position to get into the rapidly expanding AI market. At the same time, it’s serving the complex needs of India’s booming economy. One of Nexus Venture Partners’ great strengths lies in their track record and portfolio diversity. They’re poised to lead the next technological revolution and advance the innovation economy across India.

Nexus’ U.S. portfolio features notable companies such as Postman, Apollo, MinIO, Giga, and Firecrawl, showcasing the firm’s diverse investment strategy. From the beginning, Nexus has been committed to helping Indian and American companies engage in innovation-driven enterprise. They accomplish this by mixing investments between different geographies and sectors.
