Revel today opened its first West Coast electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging station. It is home to our headquarters, located deep in the heart of San Francisco’s lively Mission District. This exciting new development includes 12 high-capacity chargers. Each charger has a robust output of 320 kW, configured entirely by the EV charging firm Kempower. The launch demonstrates Revel’s desire to continue expanding its network and help make EV charging more convenient in urban centers.

The San Francisco station's debut follows closely on the heels of Revel's recent opening of 24 new chargers at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City. These chargers are purposely located within the airport’s for-hire vehicle hold lot to accommodate taxis and TNCs. This decision increases Revel’s exposure and footprint in major metropolitan areas.

Paul Suhey, co-founder and COO of Revel, spoke to the significance of this effort. He said that Revel’s stations will be open to the public around-the-clock, to any EV of any make or model. The company’s mission focuses on helping urban communities that face barriers to access charging infrastructure. We’re committed to deploying dependable fast-charging solutions to address this urgent requirement.

“Our mission at Revel is to bring reliable fast-charging to dense urban areas where EVs can have the biggest impact on quality of life, but where charging is hardest to come by,”

Paul Suhey, co-founder and COO of Revel

San Francisco mayor Daniel Lurie, AboutSF co-founder and organizer of the day’s ribbon cutting opening ceremony on Monday. Mayor Lurie is hopeful that the new chargers will be a start. He noted their ability to incentivize residents to adopt electric vehicles.

Revel is aggressively expanding along the West Coast. Last month, it locked down a $60 million loan from NY Green Bank to help fuel its work in New York City. This funding will allow the company to increase its fast-charging network in New York City to over three times its current size. Consequently, it will continue solidifying the company’s leadership in urban EV infrastructure.

Frank Reig, co-founder and CEO of Revel, couldn’t be happier about his company’s success. The biggest and the fastest He touted that Revel runs the biggest, fastest fast-charging network in New York City. Revel is quickly multiplying its footprint around the country. It seeks to increase adoption of electric vehicles by providing greater access to convenient, efficient charging.

“For years, Revel has operated the largest, fastest, and most reliable fast-charging network in New York City,”

Rebecca Bellan, former shared mobility reporter for TechCrunch, called attention to this shift. It matches handily with the broader trend toward electrification in urban mobility. Bellan has previously covered social media for Forbes.com and has contributed to various notable publications, including Bloomberg CityLab and The Atlantic.
