Co-founded by two Polish engineers, the company was born out of their frustration with bad quality movie dubbing. This recent valuation marks a significant milestone, having doubled in just nine months, reflecting the growing impact of AI technologies in various sectors.

In a noteworthy development, ElevenLabs recently announced a $100 million tender offer, which was led by prominent investors Sequoia and ICONIQ. The participation of a16z highlights investor bullishness on ElevenLabs’ ability to corner the AI audio market. The company’s technology is leaving a disruptive wake in both commercial and military applications. It adds character voices in blockbuster video games, such as Fortnite, and improves customer service experiences with expressive, user-friendly voice AI.

ElevenLabs, Inc CEO Mati Staniszewski recently shared his visionary thoughts here at this year’s Disrupt conference. To do so, he acknowledged the company’s overall strides in AI audio technology. He thinks that voice models will soon be treated as commodities. This admission only serves to punctuate the rapid pace of AI technology’s development.
