Integrate, a collaboration platform focused on enhancing project management for the defense sector, has recently secured a significant five-year contract worth $25 million from the U.S. Space Force. This accomplishment is an important milestone in the company’s overall effort to help the U.S. military execute their programs in a truly 21st century manner. In January 2022, John Conafay, a U.S. Air Force veteran, kicked off Integrate. Since then the company has turned its attention to improving collaboration between private companies and public agencies across a variety of classified projects.

Operating in a space where traditional project management tools like Atlassian’s Jira and Asana fall short due to stringent security requirements, Integrate provides an innovative solution. Its cloud-based platform empowers dozens of organizations to work together seamlessly on complex, multi-billion dollar project schedules—all while protecting sensitive data from exposure to unauthorized users. This capability is particularly vital for managing large-scale, multi-year projects, such as the F-35 Lightning II program and the James Webb Space Telescope.

Integrate hopes to use its new contract as a jumping off point to grow its influence across the entire U.S. military. The company is preparing to launch an aggressive campaign to sell its software to other branches. It will focus on the Navy, the Army, the intelligence community and commercial companies that serve them. Specifically, Integrate tackles the timely need for secure collaboration tools. This uniquely places the company to revolutionize defense program management.

John Conafay emphasized the importance of tailoring software solutions to meet government needs:

“If you don’t build something from the ground up with government requirements, you can’t really go back and re-architect software that exists for government purposes.” – John Conafay

The platform’s success is already on display. It is especially great at the difficult to plan, complex missions, which where many satellites launch simultaneously on a single mission through multiple initiatives. Conafay noted the complexities involved:

“They have to coordinate tens of satellites on a single launch across dozens of missions.” – John Conafay

It’s been the validation of the largest agencies that have helped secure confidence in Integrate’s rather robust capabilities. The company’s novel approach goes straight to the heart of the most pressing needs facing the defense community today. In doing so, it creates new opportunities for joint projects with private companies focused on national security-related endeavors.

Wesley Chan, co-founder and managing partner at FPV Ventures, was the lead investor in Integrate’s recently completed $17 million Series A funding round. Chan, known for his early investments in successful companies such as Canva, Robinhood, and Plaid, has recognized the potential of Integrate to fill a critical gap in project execution within the military sector.
